Sheikh Mohammed launched a comprehensive urban master plan for Dubai's urban development. The seventh plan of its kind has been implemented in Dubai since 1960. The Dubai 2040 urban master plan focuses on utilizing the city's space while concentrating on web development in existing urban areas.
The urban master plan includes the development of five main urban areas. There will be a twenty-five per cent increase in the spaces designated for health and educational facilities. Sixty percent of Dubai will be for nature reserves, and there will be about four hundred percent extension of beaches. The Dubai 2040 urban master plan aims to make Dubai one of the best cities to live in.
