It is expected that online retails sales are going to see a solid 14.6% GACR in between 2021-2028.
In the United States alone, there were 268 million online shoppers in 2022 and will increase to almost 285 million by 2025.

The most of the mobile shopping growth derives essentially from high-income shoppers, aged 30–49.
92% of 30-49 year olds shop online using their smartphone, and 49% of them make at least one purchase a week.
Those in the 30 to 49 age brackets are 29% more likely than average to shop via smartphone and 53% more likely to do so on a weekly basis.
Of the 18- to 29-year-olds, an astonishing 87% use smartphones for shopping on a regular basis. Of these, 38% shop every week on their shopping apps. This shows how strong consumer behavior on shopping apps among younger adults.
About 69% of the people who aged 56-54 year old use their smartphones in United States for shopping. Among those, only 22% do weekly shopping via smart phones.
45% of the seniors who aged more than 65 years uses smartphones for online shopping. Moreover, 11% of them shop weekly.
46.9% of American mobile e-commerce shoppers are aged 18-24, indicating a significant trend in mobile shopping growth among younger consumers.
25- to 34-year-olds make up 31.8% of mobile shoppers, while 35- to 44-year-olds account for 9%. The shopping app usage drops significantly for older groups, with only 4.2% of shoppers aged 45-54 and 8.1% aged 55 or older.

Consumer Preferences on Mobile Shopping Apps
64% of consumers search for and buy clothing directly from their smartphone using a mobile shopping app, with almost two-thirds (62%) making purchases through the same app in which they were browsing – meaning that overall 97% make their final purchase using an m-Commerce iOS or Android men & women's fashion brand application!
56% of consumers use mobile shopping apps to browse for shoes, and 50% of them, or 89% of shoe browsers, are likely to make purchases within the app.
44% of consumers browse accessories but only around 46% end up buying them, reflecting a 4.6% higher conversion rate than browsing.
When it comes to furniture, 42% of consumers browse via apps, but only 25% complete purchases in-app, highlighting a gap in consumer confidence.
30% of consumers are willing to purchase sporting goods through mobile apps, while 31% would browse these products.
29% of consumers would buy cosmetics in-app, with 25% browsing cosmetics through mobile apps.
Despite overall lagging interest in toys on shopping apps, a quarter (25%) of shoppers say they would actually buy toys through the mobile application and 30% said that they would at least browse for them using an app.
Challenges in the Mobile Shopping Experience
92% of online consumers believe retailers could enhance the mobile shopping experience. Common issues include 67% of mobile shoppers finding that small pages and links disrupt their shopping process.
Nearly 6 in 10 mobile shoppers – around 59% — cite privacy and security concerns as a primary obstacle to making transactions via their connected devices. And almost half of them (42%) feel this way very strongly.
The inability to quickly find desired products frustrates 36% of mobile shoppers, with 52% wishing for faster search capabilities.
57% of mobile shoppers simply want more detailed product information and reviews (it was the top response), but also that 57 percent think checkout could be easier.
Forty-five percent of consumers do not download shopping apps due to privacy fears, and 43% simply do not want another app on their phones.
